Happy Memorial Day!

Happy Memorial Day Daddy! I am so proud of you- you're my hero! When we woke up this morning there were all these old planes flying over the house. Mommy and I went outside to watch them. She doesn't know what any of them are, but I know you would! I am wearing my shirt for you to represent!

I have been standing a lot lately at my music table! Look at me! I play the piano and then I look around to see if anyone notices! After that I crawl all around the house. Mommy is going to need to get me leashes soon.

Grandma took me in the swimming pool. Mommy made sure to blast the heater a few days ago so that it would be nice and warm for me. Don't worry, she covered me in sunscreen! Uncle Brendan is sick so he has been hiding in his room. Then, grandpa came over and we started to watch the horse races together! I am learning how to gamble- haha!

I love you and miss you so much!

Lamb

Today I am not going to do a long blog. I think I may be running out of a bit of steam since we aren't doing anything that special or different lately! However, we did do something new this evening!

I decided to make Aedan his first meat dinner! I went to Whole Foods and picked him up a grass fed piece of leg of lamb steak. I roasted the small piece, chopped it up, and then put it in the Beaba with a little water to turn it into a kind of paste. (I know sounds gross) Then, I made him a prune puree. I mixed a little bit of prune with the lamb. He LOVED it. He was opening his mouth for more and grabbing for the dish! I had to give him two helpings! I think we have a little carnivore on our hands!

Once we finish all this lamb, we are going to have some ground turkey with apple and all spice and cinnamon. I am going to add Tarragon to his lamb next time I make it. I think I may also make him lamb and lentils with fresh rosemary and olive oil. But, I wanted to make sure he was able to digest it first.. so far so good!

Aedan has also started to sleep on his back again. I don;t know what this is about since he always wakes himself up this way. But still, he always looks cute, and like he is under arrest. Also, hust FYI.. I am creeped out by the new video monitor because it looks like those videos people use to watch ghosts or aliens on those shows!! HAHA!

Tomorrow is Memorial Day and we are thinking of you and missing you deeply. I watched Taking Chance again, like a loser, and cried my head off- AGAIN! I know I said I would never watch it again, but I felt I needed to. I love you more than words can say.

OPA!

Hi Dad! Today was an exciting day! I went to the Greek Festival with Mommy in Northridge at Saint Nicholas Church! They had all kinds of food booths, dancing, singing, and shops. I was asleep when we first got there, and it was SO hot. I was red in the face from the heat. Don't worry, Mommy covered me in sunscreen so I didn't get burned.

When we first got there Mommy and Alethia got some food. I decided to stay napping because there wasn't anything for me to eat. We sat with some of Alethias friends. They were all nice people who think I am super cute. All of them wanted to hold me, but they had to wait until I woke up. Then when I did everyone walked around with me and let me see the sights- dancing, singing, making olive things!

Mommy and I went into the shade and I was crying. Then, she picked me up and danced around with me to the Greek music! I LOVED IT! I was laughing and smiling. Then I realized people were watching me and I got shy!
We went inside the church to see it, and lit a candle for you. Then we got to listen to the choir singing! I loved it. I was singing along with them, swinging my arms in the air, smiling away! Everyone around us was smiling at me. The two nuns behind us were in love with me! I loved the music, it was beautiful!

Then we went home and I was very tired. Mommy gave me my dinner of summer squash, and then prunes and oatmeal. I ate a lot of it. All that sun, singing, and smell of food made me hungry! I also played with my dog toy. Every time s/he sings I love it and smile!

Then Uncle Brendan came to grandmas and I was excited. I was hopping around in my seat and I wanted him to walk with me. He took me to see Floyd! You know how much I love that. After that, Grandma put me on the chair in the living room. I was laying in it like a hammock singing! I was practicing the songs I heard in church. Maybe I can sing them for you when you come home.We love and miss you!

Clever Monkey

Well, today we had adventures around the house. I got a new video monitor and so far I like it. It causes me to feel a little less anxiety when he is sleeping in a different room from me. Right now he is resting and it is on. The video is really a nice clear picture. I called Brendan and asked him to research some of them for me because the one they sold at the Pump station, "Summer infant" apparently has no privacy and people can see into each others nurseries. Uh, scary...

Today, to get some fresh air, I put Aedan in his walker and let him cruise around the yard. He is getting interested in the pool so my Mom is going to have that fence put up soon. Barry is also coming this weekend and I am going to ask him to put plexi-glass or something on the deck. But, he enjoyed being outside and liked wearing his shoes on the grass. We tried to walk without shoes and he was a little freaked out. Once we put his shoes on he was walking and almost running around!

The big surprise was when I was making lunch in the kitchen. I put him in his room on his quilt with a bunch of toys. All of a sudden I heard Aedan pretty loudly, making his little "uuuuuh" noise. I walked toward the hallway and what did I see? I saw him half way down the hall coming toward me in the kitchen! It was amazing! He didn't go toward my bedroom, he came toward the kitchen! Uh-oh.. someone is starting to move quickly!

Tomorrow we are going to the Greek Festival with Alethia and on Monday we are going on a hike with Melissa. Should be a fun weekend. Not as fun as when you are here! We miss you tons.

Rest day!

Yesterday when we woke up it was drizzling. You know mommy loves that! Well, because I have had the sniffles and it was cold outside, Mom decided to skip swimming until next week. Instead we stayed and played around the house and then we went to Costco with Grandma.

Fist I found myself in the mirror, and I liked what I saw! I got excited, laughed, smashed my head into the mirror trying to bite my own reflection! I even low-crawled across the floor of grandmas's room to the bathroom so I could see her when she was on the treadmill. Sadie wasn't happy about it, because I kept following her around. But, I am getting much more mobile and I am almost crawling on my hands and knees. But, when I fall, I just drag myself around.

I also helped Grandma do some work on her computer! Well, I think I wasn't much help because I was throing myself around and trying to type on her keyboard! It isn't as fun to use the keyboard you made me, I like the REAL ones!

Then we went to Costco. It was very loud and exciting in there! I was really interested in everything for a while, but then I go to my limit. I started to get fussy and cried. Mommy took me to the car and we nursed, where I eventually fell asleep! But, I didn't nap for long, because I am too excitable!

Last night I didn't sleep very well. I woke up a LOT of times and whined and cried. Mommy is very tired, but, she still plays with me and smiles at me! And this morning I found myself in the mirror downstairs! I again tried to eat my refection and slap it! I love that baby in the mirror! I also love and miss you Daddy!

Rub-A-Dub-Dub

Hi Daddy! Today was a really busy day for me. For starters, the people from Family came and baby proofed grandma's house. They put latches in cabinets and drawers, locks on the toilet, covers over the outlets that have things in them, bolted down the TVs, pads on the corners of the furniture, etc. It was pretty busy in here! The man was really nicer and gave Mommy a 10% discount because you are deployed.

After that, Mommy took me to our infant group. It was nice to hang out with the other infants and Mom's. I even grabbed onto Riley and then bit her bottom and everyone laughed! I think the group leader got a photo, hopefully we can get a copy for you to see! When it was over, we went to lunch at Bread and Porridge--I fell asleep.

When we came home, I decided I want to play with Floyd. I don't think he likes it very much when I grab his paws. He tried to get away from me by climbing onto the couch. I fooled him when I crawled over and reached up to grab his paws!!! He was a good dog and put up with me. I laughed and laughed every time he looked away or tried to move his legs from my reach!

When it was bath time I shocked Mommy! I decided I wanted to climb up the bathtub and then climb down. I pulled myself up on the tub and then tried to fling myself over and into my duck bath! Then when I was in the bathtub, I decided I wanted to climb out and did the same thing! Mommy is going to have to hold me down in the bathtub now! Uh-oh!We love and miss you a lot! xxx

Sick Day..

This morning Aedan woke up with a runny nose and a wet cough. I guess going to the Pediatrician healthy was a big mistake, because we left sick! So, he took a long 2.5 hour nap this afternoon. We skipped swimming because Mommy doesn't want me to freeze to death with a cold. Instead, we went to lunch with grandma and then to Whole Foods to buy some snacks and teething tablets.

Afterwards, Jessica and Patrick called because they are staying across the street at his father's house! So, Jessica and Pat tried to fill the stroller tires with air. Unfortunately, his pump is far too big and wont fit. I think I am going to have to go to a bike shop and ask them to do it. After that, Jessica went on a walk with us. She also helped Aedan to walk a little on the driveway. He was barefooted, you would have been proud.

Aedan's new sea turtle night light arrived. We checked it out and it seemed to have passed Aedan's inspection. He liked it and showed me by hitting it a bunch of times and yelling. Finally, we ended the night reading stories with Daddy! We love watching this video. Aedan always looks up and smiles when he sees you and realizes it is you speaking. Love you.
